Brief Introduction of the No.1 Military Medical University
    Located at the eastern foot of Baiyun Mountain Guangzhou, the No.1 Military Medical University covers a total area of 680,000 square meters. It is a key state university featuring rational distribution and elegant environment.
    With solidification, practical-mindedness, exploitation and devotion as its school regulations, it has developed into a comprehensive medical university through half a century's efforts. At present, it has formed a complete academic system including nearly 10 majors, including clinical medicine, Chinese medicine, Chinese traditional medicine study, medical video engineering, medical video science, radiation technology, medical experiment technology and nursing, as well as possessing the authorization power to bachelor (medicine & industrial) through master to doctoral degree. Since its establishment, it has cultivated a large number of outstanding medical talents for the army, more than 1,000 of who are doctors and masters.
    It boasts gigantic educational strength with nearly 3,000 technical cadres, among whom nearly 700 are professors or associate professors, 32 are doctor tutors and over 200 master tutors. In addition, there are 100 experts and professors are directors or standing committees of the military or national academic organizations. 4 experts are even working under international academic organizations, and three middle-aged or young experts have done outstanding achievements for the country. Nearly 100 are enjoying government special subsidies, and 22 middle-aged or young talents have won different technical awards respectively, including Chinese Youth Technology Award and Ding Ying Technology Award of Guangdong Province, etc.
    With a strong momentum in development its scientific research work, it has improved its strength by a large margin. During the Eighth-Five Year period, it had in total undertaken over 400 key scientific projects from the WHO, Chinese Government, the Army and Guangdong Province and won more than 300 technology awards, nearly 70 of which were second-class.
    In addition, it has developed a wide academic exchange campaigns with universities or scientific research institutes from more than 10 countries and regions. Some foreign experts and scholars often come to visit or give lectures.
